qigong, chi kung, or chi gung are all variations on the spelling for what the Chinese translate literally as “Life Energy Cultivation”. It is one of the most practiced chi exercises practiced throughout the world. It involves a coordination of breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation.
Qi gong’s roots are based in Traditional Chinese Medicine, martial arts, and philosophy. Today Qi gong is traditionally viewed as a practice to harness and balance qi (chi).
To learn more about how to harness and balance your chi you can read my new book – BODY ENERGY – Unlock The Secrets Of The Chinese Body Energy Clock – available on Amazon.com.
The rhythmic breathing of chi kung paired with slow fluid movement, a peaceful state of mind, along with guiding chi throughout the body along the acupuncture meridians make qi gong a favorite exercise of older folks.
